Open Call for Applications to the Freedom Online Coalition’s Advisory Network

We are pleased to announce an open call for applications for the fourth cohort of the FOC Advisory Network (FOC-AN), to serve for a 2-year mandate from 2024 to 2026.

The FOC-AN serves as a key mechanism for the Coalition to engage regularly with non-governmental stakeholders in the field of digital technologies and human rights. It is an independent platform for multistakeholder dialogue which provides advice to FOC governments on the work of the Coalition, organises multistakeholder collaboration around FOC activities, and explores possibilities for cooperation to advance human rights online. You can find the FOC-AN’s Terms of Reference linked here

The fourth Advisory Network cohort shall be selected by the incumbent FOC-AN members in consultation with the FOC Steering Committee through an open application process administered by the FOC Support Unit, and led on by an election committee made up of FOC-AN Members.

Applicant selection will be guided by stakeholder group balance, gender balance, geographic balance, commitment to the values of the FOC, relevant expertise in the field of Internet freedom, digital rights advocacy, business and human rights, free expression, privacy, and / or international human rights law, and the ability to contribute to the Coalition’s work.

Applications from individuals and organisations based in the global South are highly encouraged. Please note that participation in the Advisory Network is voluntary, and membership is open to non-governmental stakeholders only. Applicants may apply to serve in their individual capacity or as a representative of their organisation – this should be noted in the application.

Interested individuals and organisations are now invited to apply through completing this form. The call will remain open until EOD Sunday, 24 March. Applicants will be notified of the review outcome in April.

If you have any questions on the application process, or require more information about the work of the FOC Advisory Network, please contact the FOC Support Unit at info@freedomonlinecoalition.com.
